Exclusive Interview with Spinz speaks on his new project

Hey This is Mili Da Monsta from Mili Tv and today we are here with SPINZ aka Scotty Westwood aka Jay Belushi aka Dirty Dolla

To talk about and his up & coming projects with Jadakiss Label So Raspy and more

MONSTA: Hey Spinz so first off thanks for taking your time to talk to us whats up man how have you been?

SPINZ: I’m doing great, working alot and spreading the good news that real hip hop still lives in Oxnard, California.

MONSTA: So you have a lot of affiliated names, is there a meaning behind each of them?

SPINZ: My real name is Scotty and so I have a mixtape series called $cotty Westwood that we put out, my artist name is Spinz for over 20 years now which is what everyone knows me as, Dirty Dolla is a nickname I got from a dancehall selektah while I was making a Dancehall album and I gotta few others but I think the statue of limitations isn’t up on some of those...

MONSTA: Whats going on with your next project, how do it come to be?

SPINZ: My next project is called Space Cadet stylized as “SP8Z CAD3T”. I started working on it in 2014 by chance with a song my saxophonist Lovro Ravbar and I made with a producer named Raane called “Live 4 Tha Ride”. I didn’t really plan on making another album after “1992” but Madchild (Swollen Members) was showing me songs he had recorded for “Silver Tongue Devil” while we were on tour from a producer named C-Lance from Vinnie Paz’s camp Enemy Soil Records. Then Dame Grease sent over beats, Madlib, Oh No, Alchemist and so things became a bit more interesting.

MONSTA: Did you personally get to work with Jadakiss?

SPINZ: I have done shows in the past with Jadakiss at various festivals as well as Styles P out in Europe so we have always had a mutual respect for each other for many years now. I am also releasing a new single featuring Jadakiss on my label Vibra Music Group for an artist named Noah Jones aka Mr. 200 who is about to break the guiness record for 200 features in a year. I am just a backpack rapper from Oxnard, California and that’s my music and I feel blessed to get phones calls, emails, and mental support from many big name artists even if our music is different.

MONSTA: Also I heard you worked on a project with Shady producer Rikinatti? How was it does he use the same intense methods we hear that Aftermath camp producers are well known for

SPINZ: Rikanatti was another person that I was blessed to work with. He contacted me online after hearing a few songs and produced a track for my band DankXperienz called “Action”. So the process for that was he made the beat and we “flipped” it and recorded it live. I mixed and mastered Ca$his album “Art Of Dying” and co-produced “1,2,3 Ft. Royce Da 5’ 9’’ so in exchange for the studio work he produced “1992”. Rikanatti makes everything on Reason he even has his own sounds on the program.

MONSTA: You have worked with many artist Royce Da 5' 9'', Ca$his, Madchild, Swollen Members,Smoke DZA, Big Shug, Outlawz, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Kurupt to name a few. Who has been your favorite?

SPINZ: Swollen Members

MONSTA: now just some random questions what is your favorite cd?

SPINZ: Madlib Beat Konducta Vol 1-2

¿

MONSTA: Who is your favorite artist?

SPINZ: Banksy

MONSTA: Where is your favorite place to perform?

SPINZ: Vans Warped Tour, any city.

MONSTA: Do you like to do collaborations?

SPINZ: No but I do them anyways.

MONSTA: Does going platinum matter to you?

SPINZ: No

MONSTA: How do you feel about bootlegging?

SPINZ: “Get Em” - Buckshot (Duckdown Records)

MONSTA: Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

SPINZ: Yes

MONSTA: Why is there so much feuding in the world of hip hop?

SPINZ: Rappers suck.

MONSTA: Nas claims "hip hop is dead" what is your opinion?

SPINZ: Hip Hop is BREAD

MONSTA: Even if eminem made superior music to most of the mainstream hip hop world, does his skin color have to do with why he may not be considered one of the best?

SPINZ: No way...

MONSTA: Do you think that music is enjoyed more for the beat or for the words, and why?

SPINZ: I think music is enjoyed more for the beat personally. I listen to jazz and music without words most of the time because I like to paint my own pictures in my mind.

MONSTA: Is america so superficial that the best lyrical artists are surpassed and outsold by generic mainstream artists?

SPINZ: I don’t think America is superficial I just think that when you have mainstream artists that are in the media everyday for doing stupid shit then it’s kind of hard to compete with that. And I wouldn’t say they are always “outsold”. Alot of dudes “aint feelin” Spinz music, but they should check their girlfriends CD changer, someone is...

Thanks for taking your time and sharing this Interview with us, we hope the best for you and will be waiting to hear any new updates of your new music.
